Games like this should be awarded on merit, not "everyone should get one" mentality. If the Penguins were like the 2004 Penguins, they wouldnt deserve an outdoor game. I'd be willing to bet when Crosby and Malkin retire, we wont be getting a lot of outdoor games.

Funny thing is though, when you think about it, sure we've had a lot of outdoor games... but other than 1 draft, we havent had much compared to our position in the NHL over the last 13 years. 0 All-Star games and 0 WJCs.

I was watching the Tampa/Flyers game and the announcer said they've never played in one. I imagine they can't do a game in Tampa, but you'd think they'd get an invite as a visitor.

I'm not a huge fan of them anymore. Too many of them.....JMO.

I just always love the outdoor games for the jerseys. Pens do a damn good job! Those last stadium series were sick!

An outdoor game in the South? Great, so crappy ice guaranteed and injuries to follow. It was novel at first, but now it's just stupid. Most games don't even feel like real games and they are held in football stadiums where the fans are quite a distance from the ice. I get annoyed watching them because they have the appearance of a pick-up game and seem much slower. I'll be happy if the Pens aren't the opponent.

How about a 10 year moratorium on outdoor games so that the novelty can return?

Outdoor games are here to stay. Too much money involved.

Yeah unfortunately.. Florida is a quasi- contender so it's hockey trades only.

Im wondering if GMJR has even remotely considered bringing in another big time player with some term... Like Rakell for example... If we put Poulin on the table I'd have to think it gets the convo started.

Speaking of Jack Johnson... from a hockey standpoint I’d love to see Buffalo pull off Risto for Trochek. Can’t help but root for Eichel and Bots, and that team needs a 2C in the worst way.

Nick Bjugstad! LOL

It will be interesting to see what BUF can do with Risto. He seems to be the their Justin Schultz. For his sake he's best suited for a defensive-minded team that can hide his shortcomings and let him focus on offense.

I was joking lol and I'm not sure about anything with Buffalos lineup.

You really have to feel for Botts. It just seems like nothing can go right in BUF. I wouldn't be shocked if he's on the chopping block after this season.

-Risto looked like he'd be an elite dman and the opposite happened.

-Olofsson emerges only to have Skinner be on pace for his worst season ever after signing a monster contract.

If Botts isn't let go he's at least going to have a lot of space to work with to try and build his team.

Just seems like they're not alternating each game, but of course my mind goes to the fact that this would be the gimme that he doesn't show up for.
